Provides the body with natural vitamin C, which:
• stimulates the process of collagen formation, to ensure a proper function of the skin, capillaries, gums, teeth, and bones and cartilage
• contributes to the proper function of the immune system
About Vitamin C-olway
Vitamin C is the most important vitamin in our diet. One of the reasons is its role in the formation of collagen in the body – the protein of youth and the main component of connective tissue. Most animals can produce their own vitamin C, but humans have lost this ability. There is an increased demand for vitamin C supplements as we cannot always effectively ensure a regular vitamin C intake. In addition, many adverse factors increasingly put us in a situation where this substance is needed. Scurvy is an extreme example of the serious consequences of vitamin C deficiency – it’s a disease that stops collagen production in the body.
Extracts of plants which contain vitamin C (even those with a high content) are required in large volumes to provide an effectively working, high dosage of pure vitamin C in the final product. This is the reason why other producers add ascorbic acid, which is a very low-cost component, to their vitamin supplements. Ascorbic acid – usually synthesised from corn dextrose – constitutes all or part of the composition of most products distributed as vitamin C. It is poorly absorbed by the body, and taking it regularly or in high doses can cause adverse health effects. Vitamin C-olway does not contain any amount of synthetic ascorbic acid, or any other substances that do not occur in conjunction with vitamin C in nature. It is bio-organic and completely natural, and is absorbed by the body in the same way as the nutrients obtained from fruit and vegetables.
Vitamin C-olway is a product of no compromise. It contains just two plant extracts plus the necessary amount of anti-caking agent (also of natural origin) that makes it possible to put the vitamin into capsules.
When creating our food supplement as a source of vitamin C, we chose plants that would contain the most bioavailable form, making it readily absorbed by the body. One of the reasons we chose the extracts of bitter orange and buckwheat is the fact that they contain relatively high amounts of vitamin C (up to 41%, and up to 40%). This has allowed us to create a pure, natural, bio-organic vitamin capsule with a relatively large dosage of pure vitamin C itself – a unique product in Europe.
Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) is a plant known for thousands of years in Eastern medicine and has been used to fight problems such as high blood pressure, poor circulation, allergies, varicose veins, chilblains, capillary dysfunction and many others. It also helps to fight the symptoms of premature ageing. It is a rich source of bioflavonoids, enzymes and other substances with pro-health properties.
Rutin, quercetin, hesperidin, hiperoside, angiotensin and lipase inhibitors are produced from harvested buckwheat. They contain vitamins (B1, B2, P and PP), protein (12-15%) and eight valuable amino acids such as lysine (5-7%), lecithin, coenzyme Q10, lipids, minerals (iron, phosphorus and copper, nickel, cobalt, boron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, manganese, selenium, iodine) and organic acids (gallic, caffeic, chlorogenic and protocatechuic).
Freeze-dried extracts of green buckwheat are highly valued components of food additives because of the high concentration of flavonoids (up to 46000ppm) in their sprouts. Extract of germinating buckwheat is the source of levorotatory vitamin C which has the highest bioavailability (absorption of vitamin C by the human body). In mature grains of buckwheat, vitamin C is practically nonexistent, as the plant accumulates and utilises all vitamin C potency when germinating. The extract from germinating seeds can contain up to 41% levorotatory vitamin C.
Bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) is not an edible fruit, but it is a great source of levorotatory vitamin C. The amount of vitamin C in bitter orange extract may be as high as 42%. Bitter oranges are much richer in vitamin C than edible oranges. They also rich in polyphenols, anthocyanins and other powerful antioxidants; bioflavonoids such as hesperidin and narirutina; vegetable acids (such as folic, hydroxycinnamic, caffeic, coumaric, sinapic and ferulic acids); minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, sodium, selenium and potassium and beta-carotene,; and pro-vitamin, vitamin B1, B2, and B6.
Germinating buckwheat and bitter orange help with the synergy of natural vitamins and other substances beneficial to health. We are proud to say that in many experts’ opinion, we currently have the best vitamin C product in Europe.
